Exchanging encrypted email with AES

Wherever possible, AES sends and receives e-mail via encrypted TLS (“TLS-preferred”). On request, it can also be agreed that e-mails with a business partner shall be transmitted only in TLS-encrypted form (“TLS-required”).

If you require this function to be set up, please approach your AES contact person.

Verifying digital signatures

AES uses sophisticated electronic signatures (in accordance with eIDAS). If in your capacity as an AES partner you wish to check the validity of these signatures, the public certificates required to do so are provided in this ZIP archive:

AES certificates:    „AES-Certificates.zip“

Signatures based on smart cards: AES-eSign-SubCA-2024.crt

AES CA root certificate for validating the certificate chain: AES-RootCA-2024.crt

The CRL for the user certificated (based on the SubCA) is available online and is defined in the user certificates for automatic verification.
