I'M AN ORIGINAL CATCHPHRASE

The added value for the customer is to get System, Software (SW) and Hardware (HW) Development from a single partner with a lot of experience in the development and certification of complex electronic systems in the aeronautic industry.

At AES, our system development capacities comply with the Standards SAE ARP 4754 and SAE ARP 4761 in order to develop complex electronics and to be able to bring the highest value to our customers in helping them to define optimized requirements.

 

Because we are linked to our mother companies, Safran Electronics and Defense and MTU Aero Engines, many AES engineers have mastered these competencies.

AES also invests in the development of system projects, in particular as a major stakeholder of ASSET.

 

AES has the competences to work across the complete system development life cycle, which has been demonstrated in several projects:

The AES Certification Team has extensive experience in civil certification of software (RTCA/DO-178B/C) and complex electronic hardware (RTCA/DO-254) up to DAL level A. Our experts have successfully worked with auditors from EASA, FAA as well as the French and German authorities. AES is a member of RTCA and active in the RTCA/DO-254 user group.

OUR VISIONS AND VALUES

We develop embedded hardware and complex electronics hardware  for safety critical applications in compliance with international approved certification standards, such as RTCA/DO-254, RTCA/DO-160, SAE ARP4761.
The scope of our expertise is spread over the complete development V-cycle for safety critical equipment, board electronics and complex electronics. We have established a very high safety and electronics qualification expertise within our team.

THE KEY ELEMENTS OF OUR PROFESSIONAL COMPETENCES ARE:

  • Definition of concepts and architectures for safety critical applications
     

  • Preparation of specifications of functional requirements

    • Establishment of specifications including requirements validation in accordance with DO-254 rules with advanced requirement management tools (e.g. DOORS)

    • Establishment of all relevant interface control documents (HW/SW ICD, Electrical ICD, Mechanical ICD)
       

  • Design of electronic boards incl. complex electronic HW (CEH) with latest design methods and tools (for example Actel, Altera and Xilinx; Mentor Graphics, Zuken, …)

    • for system controls including processing boards, mixes signal acquisition and controlling boards and power control and power supply

    • EMI filtering and interconnect boards

    • Modular VHDL code designed/verified based on basic functions / IP cores (e.g. Arinc-429, UART, DSP functions, PID controller, Resolver, LVDT, ADC interfaces)

    • Functions for complex signal conditioning, actuator drive logic, communication interfaces, parallel arithmetic unit for high speed signal conditioning, very low power CPLDs

    • System on programmable chip integration of processor IPs (CPU) and peripherals (memory, communication interfaces) into a single chip (FPGA)
       

  • Verification and qualification of electronics in accordance with international aerospace and industry standards (e.g. DO-254, DO-160, MIL-STD-810) and customer requirements.

    • Establishment of test procedures and qualification procedures
